The Voter Fails to Respond to a Notice of Potential Ineligibility

Once the certified mail return receipt has been received, the voter has 30 days to respond to the notice of potential ineligibility.

The status of all voters who missed the deadline can be changed to an ineligible status that is based on the type selected when scheduling the Notice of Potential Ineligibility. The Process non Response to Notice program changes non-responsive voters' statuses and schedules them to receive a Notice of Ineligibility. The program picks up voters who:

  • Have a match status of Certified Receipt Received and missed the deadline for responding to the notice (that is, the notice-sent date is greater than 29 days).
  • Have a match status of Newspaper Notice Scheduled and failed to respond to the newspaper notice (that is, the newspaper-notice-scheduled date is greater than 29 days).

You should run the Process non Response to Notice program in accordance with your county's schedule for eligibility maintenance.
